Henrietta Suite (there’s a story we like to tell about the name)
Luxurious light-filled Henrietta Suite has its own modern bath, private entrance, and private balcony from which you can view the gardens and farm. Its locally-made queen bed, down duvet and pillows, and beautiful cotton or linen sheets make for a wonderful night’s sleep. Filled with books, baskets, and bobbles from Marian’s travels from around the world, as well as lovely antiques, you will not be bored as you read, relax, or recline on the couch and wing back chair in the room.
Josiah Room (named for the man who first bought the land)
We call this our Southwestern Asian room because it is filled with items from Marian’s time living in the Southwest and her travels in Asia. It is also known as our pumpkin room for the color of the paint on the walls. Despite what is generally thought, early New Englanders often painted their rooms bright colors and we followed that idea here. Light-filled and comfortable with its locally-made queen bed and down duvet and pillows, 100% cotton sheets, wing-back chair, and narrow couch, you will enjoy relaxing in this room. It shares a renovated bath with the Abigail room next door.
Abigail Room (another story here for the name)
Filled with books and a wide variety of items from South Korea and other Asian countries, this light-filled room is a serene and soothing get-away. You’ll sleep well in the locally-made queen bed and down pillows and duvet with battenburg lace cover. The huge wing-back chair and footstool provide a place to read comfortably (or work on your laptop, if you must!). We can tell you about the chicken bench on which one of the lamps rests. It shares a newly renovated bath with the Josiah room next door.
Baths: Each newly renovated bathroom has a skylight, deep soaking tub, rain shower, heated floor tiles, hair dryer, and fluffy 100% cotton towels and washcloths.
If you are a family with children, and we have availability, we can let you share the Josiah and Abigail rooms for $175 a night. We have games and books located in the hall outside the shared bathroom.
